 | Tech was my first choice and the only school I applied to. Sure, I might have made it to UVA or William and Mary. My couceller even wanted me to try Yale or Harvard. But Tech really was my only choice.
- Computer Science. Hey, it's a TECHNOLOGY school. Where else would I go for Computer Science? I also liked the fact that it was in the college of arts and sciences, rather than engineering.
- Creative Writing. VT is the only school in VA where you can minor in Creative Writing, which is something I very much wanted to do.
- In State. I couldn't afford anything out of state, even with schollarships. Plus, I didn't want to be that far from my family.
- Guys. I won a Wellsley (all girl college) award in high school, but all girls? I don't think so. VT is the only college in the state(when I enrolled) with more men than women. Gotta like them odds!
- Winter. I love the winter. I love snow, I love cold. And Blacksburg has it. It's also situated in the mountains and absolutely beautiful! As the saying goes, God must be Hokie, because the leaves turn maroon and orange in the fall!
