That's me and Ting in the left/bottom corner there :-) We volunteered to help with Shanty town in April 1999. This consisted of living in a cardboard box for an afternoon, evening, overnight, and morning. It was FREEZING. And cardboard, even on grass, was much much harder than I would have thought. It was horrible, but we raised a lot of money for Habitat for Humanity.
That morning, we were all exhausted and some really nice guy across the street in the donut shop came over and bought us all donuts and coffee- doesn't that just restore all your faith in humanity? :-)
